NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) has signed a series of contracts for a procurement framework for intelligent automation services in the health service.
The agency has published a contract award notice indicating that the framework could be worth up to £250 million over the next two years.
According to the NHS SBS website description it involves 28 suppliers over three lots: for services from consultancy and implementation to support; ‘off the shelf’ software and licensing; and intelligent automation-as-a-service, an outcome based, managed solution.
The contract notice describes the framework as “a contractual vehicle to support the adoption, implementation and on-going development of intelligent automation across approved organisations, offering access to services and software that will address a wide range of intelligent automation solutions”.
The list of suppliers on the framework include a variety of major consultancies, more specialised tech firms and one NHS body: Abtrace, Accenture, AECOM, Agilysys, Arvato, Atos IT Services, Broadstones Group, Camtech Consulting, CGI IT UK, Capgemini, Datamatics Infotech, Deloitte, EBO AI, Endpoint Automation Services, EPAM Systems, Ernst &Young, FPT Software, Infosys, Insight Direct, Kainos Software, Mastek, Netcall Systems, NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit, Robiquity, Synertec, Tech Mahindra, TPXImpact and Trustmarque.
NHS SBS noted that intelligent automation is a developing technology but said it has the capacity to increase efficiency, reduce costs and risks and improvement the patient experience.
