NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) has signed up to use BlackLine financial close automation software.
The national board that provides infrastructure services and solutions to NHS Scotland organisations is implementing the software as part of its digital transformation strategy.
The supplier said it will help to reduce manual tasks by automating much of the financial close processes. It should also improve visibility over balance sheet controls and add an extra layer of assurance to the audit and review process.
NSS will initially deploy BlackLine’s account reconciliation tool and is assessing the use of other features, such as journal entry and transaction matching.
Carolyn Low, director of finance and business services at NSS, said the move is a key part of the governance and control stream of its transformation process.
“I am particularly pleased that automating financial processes will give us more time and resource to invest in providing business insight and support decision making,” she said.
