The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has signed TPXImpact as multi-disciplinary partner for its Digital Planning programme.
They have agreed on a three-year contract, with an option to extend for a further year, with a value of at least £5 million but with the scope to rise to £19 million, depending on future funding and demand for the services.
The award notice says the contract came into force at the beginning of this week and covers the provision of multi-disciplinary services and specialists to support the Digital Planning programme.
It also names a number of key subcontractors: Arup, Lichfields, Public Group International, Faculty Science and Savills.
Programme aims
The Digital Planning programme is aimed at increasing the use of digital tools and reducing paper processes among planning authorities. This is intended to provide better access to planning data, enable faster decisions and plan making, and improve local community engagement.
In recent months the team leading the programme has claimed breakthroughs in the use of AI in planning and expanded its Common Tools as a Service operation.
TPXImpact recently won a similar contract as a partner for digital, data and technology operations at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, and has previously won significant central government contracts with HM Land Registry and the Department for Education.
