The recent indication from the Crown Commercial Service that it plans to launch a procurement framework for automation underlines the importance of the technology to the public sector.
It is becoming a fixture, with most organisations either deploying the technology or seriously investigating its potential to take on high volume, mundane tasks with the promise of high productivity, increased accuracy and freeing up staff for more challenging work.
An array of initiatives have been launched, such as the Financial Ombudsman aiming to build an in-house capability, Norfolk County Council’s use of the technology as a strategic tool and efforts to scale up the use of automation by NHS England.
Against this backdrop, UKAuthority is providing an opportunity to obtain a series of insights on the issue through its Automation & Bots4Good conference.
