The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has launched a QR code service for drivers to share their licence information through their smartphones.

It said that those who sign up for a driver and vehicles account will be able to generate a code and share the information with third parties such as care hire and insurance companies.

The service is only available to account users.

DVAL launched the online account in August 2023 and added new features, including photo renewal and applying for a first provisional licence, in April 2024.
