Public sector procurement organisation YPO has set up a single supplier ICT managed service for education framework with Capita.
It involves a four-year deal under which the company will provide a pre-approved, one-stop-shop for the sourcing, installation, management and maintenance of a range of IT, network, telecommunications and software services.
It is the first single supplier education framework from YPO, which is owned by 13 local authorities and has over 70 associate members.
Robyn Lamport-Rann, category buyer for ICT at YPO, said; “Together with Capita, we will be able to successfully deliver technology strategies that will equip schools with the best IT support in these difficult times and for the future.
“In the current climate, the framework will ensure that schools and universities are supported to prioritise the wellbeing of the communities they serve, whilst enabling learning to continue wherever possible.”
Cost-effective claim
Mark Cook, executive officer of Capita’s Technology Solutions division, said the framework will enable it to design and deliver cost-effective technology services.
YPO said the framework should reduce the time spent on procurement services for many organisations and reduce duplication by larger entities such as multi-academy trusts.
It will also be available for the wider public sector.
