The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust’s health visiting team has launched a mobile app providing advice and tips for parents in supporting young children.
Named Healthy Child Wolves, it was commissioned by City of Wolverhampton Council and includes a range of information on children aged from birth to five, including on common illnesses, first aid, keeping a baby safe, breastfeeding and dental health. It also gives users information on the health visiting team and other local NHS services.
The app also includes trackers to record a baby’s sleeps and feeds.
Sian Thomas, deputy chief operating officer at the Royal Wolverhampton, said: “The Healthy Child Wolves app has been developed by the Trust’s Health Visiting Team in partnership with families. We hope that parents and families will find it useful, and it helps to provide them with extra confidence and reassurance to bring up a happy and healthy child.”
Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, the council's cabinet member for public health and wellbeing, said: "Our NHS health visiting team does a fantastic job providing advice and support to thousands of new parents and families of young children across the city. The Healthy Child Wolves app helps complement this service and is a great additional resource to families.”
