Wiltshire Council launches web app for local events

Wiltshire Council has launched a web app to help residents and visitors find events and activities in the county.

Named Explore Wiltshire Events, it has been developed by digital innovation company Calvium and can be accessed through web browsers enables people to search for events based on location, category, data and available amenities.

The council said users can add the app to their mobile device home screens to access as an app.

Events are added by trusted partners in the arts, culture, leisure an tourism operators, as well as parish councils.

Cllr Richard Clewer, leader of the council and cabinet member for economic development, said: “The app is packed full of fantastic events for everyone that will not only attract residents and tourists, but also help to boost the county's economy, which is one of our key Business Plan aims.

“The funding for this app has been provided through our Wiltshire Towns Programme, a £1 million investment each year for four years that seek to transform Wiltshire's high streets by growing businesses and supporting employment.”
