From the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic, public sector bodies began to use their data and share with others to provide an effective response.

It has reinforced the perceptions of its high value, but also raised questions about how it can be best used in future, where the shortcomings have appeared, what new sources are emerging, and what new opportunities could open up for data sharing.

In short, what will be the data legacy of Covid-19?

This will all come under the spotlight next week at UKAuthority’s online conference on Data4Good. It involves a line-up of high level speakers ready to provide unique perspectives and valuable insights into the next steps for the public sector’s use of data, including: Gaia Marcus, head of national data strategy at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport; Bill Mitchell, director of policy at BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT; Liz Lutgendorff, senior research analyst at the Government Digital Service …. and several others.

The event is taking place over three 90-minute sessions, from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm on 14, 15 and 16 October, and is free to attend for the public sector only.
