West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) has begun to use the Unblur IRIS Core and Tactics incident management platform to support its incident command units.
It went live with the platform early last month under a two-year contract and option for an unspecified extension.
This came under an 18-month collaboration project with Unblur focused on operational performance, compliance and safety.
The IRIS platform is a command and control solution that integrates with other emergency management systems to provide first responders with real time situational awareness information.
Array of features
Its features include a real time overview of emergency scenes, analytics and data integration capabilities, incident reporting and documentation functions, personnel and asset tracking, hazard identification and live updates from multiple sources.
Martin Ward-White, head of operations at West Midlands Fire Service, said: “The deployment of the Unblur IRIS Core and Tactics platform marks a significant advancement in emergency response capabilities for West Midlands Fire Service. As we embark on this new chapter, we look forward to continuing our partnership with Unblur in order to deliver the highest level of service and protection to the communities we serve.”
