Wrexham Glyndwr University and the University of South Wales (USW) have signed up Elemental Software to support the wellbeing of students in higher education.
Under a two-year contract awarded in August the company’s is now being used to connect students at Wrexham Glyndwr with non-clinical services.
The project is being funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW), with USW evaluating its progress with the aim of delivering a similar approach.
Elemental’s Elearning Academy has provided 181 members of the Wrexham Glyndwr University team with the training needed to go live on the platform and make, manage and report on referrals.
Jennifer Neff, co-founder and chief executive officer of Elemental Software, said it will contribute to a whole system approach to wellbeing at the universities.
The company said a recent survey by the National Union of Students showed that more than 50% of students have said their mental health has declined since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
