Wales’ Centre for Digital Public Services (CDPS) has appointed Jack Rigby as its new head of technology.
He moved into the role last month to take the lead on the organisation’s technology priorities for the Welsh public sector, with an initial emphasis on digital identity, the opportunities in automation and a ‘Once for Wales’ approach to some public services.
Rigby previously served as four-year stint at HM Revenue Customs, first as a solutions architect then technical architect for innovation, and previously worked in various roles for Leeds City Council.
He has claimed experience in running innovation labs for user centred service, advocating an open data approach for existing services and in business relationship management.
“The digital ambitions of Wales and CDPS really excite me,” he said. “There’s an opportunity here to set the standard for coming together as a public ecosystem and I can’t wait to play my part.
“The value of working together is something lots of places are catching on to, but I’ve not seen as clear a commitment to putting users at the core of services as I have at CDPS.”
