Geoff Connell, president of Socitm and CIO at Norfolk County Council, is placing digital leadership and youth apprenticeships at the heart of his presidency
“This is a call to arms. IT managers are well placed to support digital transformation and working together with political policy makers and senior executives they can help build the trust to deliver new ways of working”, Connell says.
He also emphasises the theme of youth apprenticeships, saying he believes local councils have a moral obligation to give young people the opportunity to acquire the right skills and work experience.
