University of Durham has signed Terminalfour Solutions to provide a new content management system.
In a £250,000 deal, the company won the competition for both lots of the contract, providing the CMS itself and fulfilling the role of implementation partner.
It has a hard deadline to get a new system in place by November 2020, replacing a model that is approaching the end of its life, producing inconsistent, fragmented and poorly presented content.
The university identified a need for a radical overhaul, largely reflecting changes in higher education that have seen the sector become more competitive and demanding a multi-channel approach with multimedia content and the capacity for personalisation.
It also said that missing the deadline will open it up to risks as the security patches for the old system will not be available after the date.
Terminalfour Solutions pitches its web content and digital marketing platform at the higher education sector, with existing customers including Imperial College London and Loughborough University.
