UK Road Offender Education (UKROEd) has signed Civica in a managed services agreement for the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS).
Extending to the management and administration of the whole scheme, it includes the maintenance, support and ongoing development of the DORS+ software application, which acts as a data hub for all of the organisations using the service.
The deal will go live when the current NDORs deal expires in September and is valued by the contract notice at £25 million.
DORS+ acts as a data hub for the police, training providers and the public, along with supporting the management of the scheme and the accreditation process for trainers on the NDORS speed awareness courses.
It consists of four web portals through which police forces can register and administer offenders deemed to be in need of training, provider can list the available of courses and manage attendance, the public can arrange training sessions, and UKROEd and its assessors can administer the scheme.
It also includes APIs for access to key functions.
UKROEd has currently suspended all its speed awareness courses due to the Covid-19 pandemic. These provide an alternative to punishment for low level speeding offences.
