UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) has extended its arrangement with VertoCloud for all of its research councils to use the company’s collaboration and project management platform.
They have agreed on a new three-year partnership following the initial implementation of the platform at UKRI in June 2020, for use by its departments for digital, data and technology, project development and improvement and the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, along with Innovate UK and the Science and Technology Facilities Council.
It has now opted for a bespoke version with a set of standard frameworks for managing projects across UKRI for use across its research councils for arts and humanities, biotechnology and biological sciences, economic and social issues, engineering and physical sciences, medicine, the natural environment and higher education.
VertoCloud said the new platform also provides resource planning functions and facilitates reporting into the Department of Business, Energy and Industry Strategy.
A second project is being initiated to onboard other teams and functions within UKRI and deliver new functions including programme lifecycle and portfolio level reporting.
