Two public sector bodies and a leading charity have joined the CyberScotland Partnership.

The Scottish Cyber Coordination Centre (SC3), the Digital Office for Scottish Local Government and Age Scotland have joined to bring the number of partners in the organisation to 21.

The CyberScotland Partnership is a collaborative approach backed by the Scottish Government that provides practical, tailored advice and guidance on cyber security.

“Cyber resilience requires collective effort, it is not solely the responsibility of government or law enforcement,” it said.

“It is a challenge that demands vigilance, collaboration, and proactive engagement from all people, businesses and organisations to protect individuals from the ever evolving nature of cyber threats.”

Standards and best practice

The role of SC3 is to help protect against cyber incidents while promoting adherence to appropriate standards and best practices across critical functions and infrastructure. In September of last year it indicated that it is making protection of public sector bodies its top priority.

The Digital Office supports Scottish local authorities in their digital transformation efforts. It recently highlighted its provision of strategic tabletop exercises to help councils strengthen their cyber security.

Age Scotland provides advice and supports older people by connecting and engaging with them through networks, enabling them to participate in groups and their communities.
