Both our NHS and local authorities are facing a tsunami of demand in that more and more of our wonderful elderly people are living longer – which is great – but they often need a little bit more help along the way.
So how can the latest technologies take the pressure off? Can we turn data into intelligence, cross boundaries and deliver efficient, holistic care around the person – regardless of whether they’re in hospital or at home?
Perhaps more importantly though, how can we help people to live in their own homes for longer - more safely, more independently – and in control of their own health and wellbeing.
On the panel:
-
Bob Brown, chief information officer, Manchester City Council
-
James Palmer, programme head, product development / digital integration / social care, NHS Digital
-
Helena Zaum, local and regional government and CityNext lead, Microsoft
-
Helen Olsen Bedford, publisher, UKAuthority
