Transport for London (TfL) has digitised the Walk London network and will make it available through the Go Jauntly app.
It said this is part of an action plan to boost the level of walking for leisure around the capital, which in turn is aimed at promoting physical and mental wellbeing while protecting the environment.
The Walk London Network is one of the largest walking networks of any city in the world, comprising seven routes split into sections, to encourage leisure walking in London.
TfL said that digitising the network will enable people to navigate all the routes through the app.
Christina Calderator, director of transport strategy and policy, said: “Boosting leisure walking will improve the health of Londoners, reduce health inequalities and make London a more walkable city. We'll continue to work with our partners to ensure everyone has access to high quality walking infrastructure."
The broader plan includes an audit of signage on the existing Walk London network and efforts to improve existing wayfinding signs. TfL will also use funding from the Mayor's Green New Deal fund to identify further ways of improving the network, including by resurfacing existing paths to make them more attractive and easier to use.
