Tewkesbury Borough Council has announced plans to use Netcall’s Liberty Create low code platform for its online service development.

It said it is setting up a team to work with the platform, which gives it the flexibility to design services around customer needs.

The council has signed a three-year deal with the company to use the platform.

The first phase of its work will be in redesigning and transferring existing online services, which include reporting a missed bin, signing up for garden waste services, paying council tax and making a complaint about noise.

This will be followed over the first year by adding bulky collections and paperless council tax billing.

Exciting step

Councillor Mike Dean, lead member at Tewkesbury for customer focus, said: “This is a really exciting step forward for us, and one which will have a really positive impact on our customers’ experience with us. Fewer people are engaging with us over the phone or in person, so investing in our online services makes sense.

“Liberty Create will allow us to offer residents a much slicker, faster and improved online experience – and our online services will be customer focused; it’s not about what works for the council, but what works for our residents and businesses.

“We will be using the best mapping technology, combined with useful automated communications, and simpler processes to make our online services the best around.”
