Swindon Borough Council has launched an online tool to help residents correctly identify the most effective way to dispose of waste items.
The Waste Wizard is on the council’s website and was developed by software company Routeware. It contains detailed information on hundreds of items with predictive search and synonym detection.
It has been launched as the council makes changes to waste and recycling collections and rolls out weekly food waste collections.
Routeware said it will help ensure the information provided to residents is clear and up-to-date, help the internal team to maintain up-to-date item lists and information, and provide data and analytics to optimise recycling education and communications.
