Stirling Council has launched a public survey to help shape the design of its planned new website.
It is working with digital transformation consultancy Storm ID on helping its developers understand how people want to find information on the site.
They have set out a ‘tree test’ survey with a range of questions based on some of the site’s most heavily used functions, including paying council tax and reporting an issue. By tracking the steps that people opt to take, the developers hope to build a more streamlined structure for the new site.
The council said that arrangements for research groups are being finalised and will be released “in due course”.
Councillor Alison Laurie, vice convener of Stirling’s finance and economy committee, said: : “We’re still at the early stages here but we want the people who use the website to shape it to their needs from the get go.
“With their feedback and the expertise of Storm ID, we can future proof our website to make it easy to use and accessible for all citizens, responsive to different devices, and above all, a trusted channel for local information and news.”
The council said the site had around 2.5 million visits in 2020.
