Care and housing provider Southdown has made the Qwell digital mental health wellbeing service available for adults in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex.
The non-profit organisation has chosen the service, provided by specialist in the field Kooth, for the UOK partnership of community services in the area.
It provides fee, anonymous and personalised digital support for wellbeing to complement existing mental health services and pathways, such as NHS Talking Therapies and Health in Mind.
Southdown said the people accessing the UOK website will be directed to appropriate interventions that could be clinical, therapeutic or social.
Several features
Key features of the Qwell service include: information resources on topics such as parenting, relationships and neurodiversity; self-guided activities such keeping a journal, mood tracking and goal setting; peer forums; supportive messaging with mental health practitioners; and professional live chat support when needed.
Neil Blanchard, chief executive at Southdown, said: “Investing in Qwell aligns with our commitment to support and promote good mental wellbeing for all. This includes offering people a choice of support that meets their needs.
“Qwell’s integration capabilities and unique out-of-hours provision make it a valuable addition to the UOK partnership, NHS services, as well as the wider mental health network of services across Brighton & Hove and East Sussex.”
