South Norfolk and Broadland District Councils are preparing to implement Civica cloud software for their revenues and benefits function.
The company has agreed a five-year contract with the councils – whose staff operate in a shared team – tor the use of its revenues and benefits platform to manage the billing and collection of over £250 million in local taxation and £50 million in benefit awards each year.
It said this will support agile and remote working and the councils’ sustainability agenda.
The contract also involves the development of an integrated self-service portal for residents for processes such as notifying a change of address.
The councils’ interim consultancy officer, Louise Tiernan, said: “The move to one Civica system offers us better resilience to operate truly as one team. This will ensure the same high quality customer service across both councils, with the best outcomes for our customers and residents.
“This is not simply a technology implementation, it’s about our whole approach as to how we deliver innovative cloud services both now and in the future.”
