South Kesteven District Council has launched a new app to support local businesses.

Named HelloSK, it enables businesses to promote their discounts, products and services direct to local residents.  It also includes listings of events held across the district.

The council developed the app with technology company bubltown, supported by funds from its £250,000 allocation from the government’s Welcome Back Fund to support local business.

It uses in-built location services to show residents the shops, restaurants, gyms and other services available in their area.

Key priority

Leader of the council Cllr Kelham Cooke, said: “Supporting our business community is one of the key priorities identified in our corporate plan. The HelloSK app is an exciting new way of boosting all local businesses and revitalising the high streets across the district and encouraging residents to shop locally."

He added: “It will allow all South Kesteven businesses, no matter which sector they operate in, to create a profile for free and promote their business directly to thousands of South Kesteven residents.

“There are some fantastic businesses in our district and this app is another incentive for people to shop local and take advantage of what they have to offer.”

HelloSK is available from the Apple Appstore and Google Play Store.
