The Society for Innovation, Technology and Modernisation has announced plans for an institute to be named Socitm Inspire.

It said it plans to formally launch the venture on 13 June at its President’s Conference and aims to offer a deeper level of support for members in addressing various challenges.

Although it is still working on the details, it said the institute will include communities of practice and practical assets such as toolkits, templates and benchmarking data from the public sector and partners.

It is currently taking feedback from members on the plan.

New level of support

Socitm’s chief executive Nadira Hussein said: “We have engaged our membership extensively over the last year to understand the critical challenges they face. It is now time for us to respond in the unique way we can through a new level of support that Socitm Inspire will bring.

“We will build on an existing collaborative community, provide relevant and relatable sector specific resources and create a go-to place to learn from, share with and avoid having to start afresh every time.”

The organisation has also indicated it has plans to transition to charitable status in the future.
