The Scottish Government has agreed on a £4 million deal with Informed Solutions to act as digital strategic partner for its Information Systems Division (ISD).
The procurement notice points to the roles of providing strategic advice and helping to build the ISD’s capability and outlines two main purposes for the technology and data company.
One is to add to the in-house digital skills to help mitigate the risks associated with legacy systems, along with ensuring that the infrastructure, applications and data estate are kept up-to-date.
It also involves leading innovation and helping to exploit digital practices and technologies.
The other is to support to provide skills and knowledge transfer to teams in ISD, helping to make its leaders more self-sufficient, and helping to embed digital practices in policy and service design.
The move comes from a programme of short contracts with suppliers for its digital transformation initiatives, under the Scottish Government’s Digital Partner Service. It involves a series of one-year deals under which partners contribute strategic advice and innovation for government programmes.
