The Digital Office for Scottish Local Government has signed Agilisys to deliver a digital system for councils to procure to support community resilience hubs set up to respond to the coronavirus.
The organisation chose the company through a comparative technical analysis process after working with Microsoft and its partners to define a solution.
It said it will help to manage and track needs and responses from volunteers and other organisations such as care providers and pharmacies.
Named Helping Hands, the solution should be available to Scottish local authorities as they aim to coordinate efforts to support 200,000 vulnerable people through the pandemic.
A briefing paper from Agilisys says the solution involves a front end portal for contact teams, with an online questionnaire to help them record the needs of vulnerable people. This will be available to council staff and volunteers.
It also involves a back office system that allocates vulnerable people to contact team members and provides details of tasks, along with reporting functions.
Microsoft platforms
The system will run through Microsoft Azure UK data centres using the company’s Dynamics 365 and Power BI platforms and should be deployable for a council within 24 hours.
Agilisys will also set up an Office 365 tenancy for each local authority that procures the system.
According to the Digital Office’s briefing paper, any local authority taking on the solution will need to agree a G-Cloud contract with the company.
