Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council has launched a new app for residents to access services.

Named the MySandwell App, its features include the capacity to log in to an account using biometric scanning or facial recognition.

The council said it wanted to make sure the first services to go live in the app are to report fly tipping, potholes and broken streetlights, to book a visit to the tip and make payments.

It added that it has initially focused on these to reflect the services that are most frequently used or that people might need to access when out and about, and that it will expand the number of services over the coming months.

The app is available from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and complements the MySandwell website.
