Rochdale Borough Council has launched its new rochdale.gov.uk website as the latest step in its customer transformation programme.
It has emphasised the improved accessibility of the new site, claiming it is already rated as one of the most accessible council websites in the UK by the Sitemorse Local Government Index.
The site has been developed with Jadu during the pandemic, went live with a soft launch in May, has gone through further testing and was formally launched by the council in August. It is said to be more user-friendly on mobile devices, and to deliver pages across https for higher security.
Other features include more intuitive navigation, integrated forms using new branded website templates, flexible page layouts and the capacity to connect to software such as the council’s MyAccount service and CRM.
Rochdale Council’s leader Cllr Neil Emmott said: “Establishing what residents needed from our new website was the starting point for the improvements. We’re on a journey to develop the website further and this will form a vital step on our transformation journey.”
