IT systems at Redcar and Cleveland Council, including its website, are still down more than a week after it was hit by a cyber attack.
Staff are reportedly forced being forced to use pen and paper with only the council tax payment system, which works on a platform run by software provider Civica, up and running.
A spokesperson has not been available for comment on 18 February, but the council’s Facebook page has confirmed that systems are down and a report on the local Teeside Live service said it has called in support from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and notified the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
The nature of the attack not yet been confirmed, but the report quoted a council spokesperson as saying: "Investigations are continuing but at this stage, there is no evidence so far to suggest that any personal data has been lost outside the council's systems."
Redcar and Cleveland is still able to take phone calls from the public.
Council leader Mary Lanigan told the BBC that a large team was involved in rebuilding the systems.
