A procurement consortium for social housing has floated a plan for a major new framework to support electronic payments in the sector.

Procurement for Housing (PfH), which is supported by the National Housing Federation, Chartered Institute for Housing and HouseMark, has published an opportunity notice for potential suppliers indicating that the new arrangement could be worth up to £96 million.

It would consist of seven lots: multiple network managed services; single network managed services; cash in solutions; outbound payments with prepaid cards; vouchers; open banking services for payment initiation; and assessment for debt solutions.

It says the lot structure recognises the demand from members of PfH – who it says manages more than 75% of the UK’s social housing stock – for multiple managed network services that provide a wide flexibility for organisations to take payments in ways that are convenient for their customers.
