UKAuthority virtual conference, 11.00-12.30 on 9, 10, 11 March 2022.
What technologies will be powering the future of digital public services?
As the capabilities and expectations of public services change, so does the technology infrastructure that supports them.
Last year’s UKAuthority virtual conference, Powering Digital Public Services, saw a host of public sector digital, data and tech leaders outline how they had met the challenges of Covid19
Without exception, organisations had risen to the challenge do more, to rapidly meet new requirements and been agile in shifting services to new foundations - especially those on the cloud. The experience had profoundly impacted how the sector approached and harnessed technology, and delivered a shift in thinking about how they will move forward.
This has been highlighted and accelerated by the public sector response to the Covid-19 pandemic but reflects a trend that was already in place. It has also shown that the issues are not entirely technical and financial, and that in making decisions there are questions to ask about data protection, digital inclusion and environmental sustainability.
These issues continue to rise up the agenda, reflecting the social responsibilities of the sector, and have to be taken into account in future investments in the technology that powers services
