The Police Digital Service (PDS) has begun to monitor the cyber security of supply chains of UK police forces.

It has entered into a partnership with supply chain security specialist Risk Ledger to support greater collaboration between police services on the issue.

This involves using the company’s Defend-as-One approach and risk management platform, which can connect entire supply chains into an active network for insights to identify threats.

PDS will use this to coordinate with all forces and implement a method for identifying, measuring and mitigating shared risk.

Risk Ledger said this will also increase response speeds to emerging attacks on software systems.

“We look forward to building on the success of this approach in partnership with PDS and the police forces already using Risk Ledger,” it said. “We hope to provide guidance for other police forces across the UK on the modalities and benefits that such a network approach could bring. “
