HM Passport Office has signed its third significant deal in the space of a few weeks with software company Kainos.
It has taken on the firm to provide level 3 support of digital applications and services within its customer facing product family, using the Crown Commercial Service Technology Services 2 framework, in two-year deal – with options for three one-year extensions – with a maximum value of £39.5 million.
This comes after a £48 million deal, the award notice for which was published last month, for the firm to support the agency’s Digital Future Services programme.
It also follows a smaller value contract in July, also involving the General Register Office, for Kainos to help deliver a private beta version of a digital death registration service.
The Passport Office has been pushing on with digital transformation campaign in recent months, having also signed Atos in a £21 million deal for IT services around business intelligence and infrastructure products.
