Oxfordshire County Council has reappointed Telent Technology Services to maintain its traffic signals and intelligent transport system (ITS) estate.

They have renewed an arrangement that has been in place since 2017 with a new three-year contract, under which Telent will continue to design and develop Oxfordshire’s traffic systems network.

It will also provide ongoing maintenance, supply and installation of essential traffic signal equipment, and continue to deploy a range of on-street ITSs across key locations within the county.

The company said these systems will not only help optimise traffic flow but also enhance road safety by improving signal reliability, reducing congestion, and supporting better journey planning for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.

Phil Whitfield, operational manager signals and solutions at Oxfordshire County Council, said: “Our partnership with Telent has been a successful one throughout and contributes to the council providing the service it does to its citizens, and keeping the county roads as safe and disruption-free as possible.”
