National Savings and Investment (NS&I) has awarded Sopra Steria with a contract to provide business to business outsourced services, including IT and infrastructure – in support of its Rainbow Programme.
The state owned savings bank that is an executive agency of the chancellor of the exchequer has agreed on a three-year deal valued at £92.3 million with the company.
It involves makes provision for a nine-month transition in advance of the end of a current arrangement with Atos IT Services in April of next year, at which the time the relevant services will move into the Rainbow operating model.
These cover the delivery of government schemes including Help to Save, the Help to Buy ISA, the Mortgage Guarantee Scheme and the Court Funds Office. NS&I provides the services through its Government Payment Services (GPS) offer.
The Rainbow Programme is aimed at reducing the running costs for NS&I by making it a self-service digital business. Its first major contract was announced in July of last year, with IBM winning a £34.2 million deal for digital integration and service operations.
