Northern Ireland’s Department of Education has signed up to use Civica software to administer teachers’ pensions.
They have agreed on a seven-year, £6 million deal for access to the cloud based Universal Pensions Management system, which will provide coverage for 65,000 active, deferred and retired Teachers’ Pension Scheme members.
Among the features included in the system is an online self-service facility. It is due to go live in April 2020.
The contract marks a deepening of Civica’s role in Northern Ireland’s public sector. It has significant contracts with the police service, the fire and rescue service, NI Direct and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
