Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) has awarded a five-year, £278,00 contract to Civica to use its Transman software to manage its fleet and equipment.
It is part of a long term strategy to make the management of fleet, engineering and supplies for the service more efficient.
The Tranman software will form a comprehensive central data system for all essential fleet information providing a live electronic working environment. It will also support the organisation’s data management.
Civica said that NIFRS staff can use its Document Management module to securely store any type of file or document against the relevant record using drag and drop. This reduces storage and retrieval costs and minimises risk as any missing documentation is quickly identified via dashboard reminders.
Single view
Ian Grimes, head of fleet, engineering and supplies at NIFRS, commented: “We were seeking a solution which would create that all-important single view of our Fire Service fleet, equipment and supplies so we can gain better data insight and understanding of our support costs.
“This new partnership with Civica Tranman offers us a digital-first system which features the extensive electronic scheduling we require while helping us deliver a stronger, more innovative fire and rescue service.”
NIFRS serves a population of 1.8 million across 68 locations in Northern Ireland.
