Northern Ireland’s Education Authority is to spend £107 million over the next two years under the extension of its Education Network contract with Capita.
The company has gone public with details of the extension, saying it will run until the end of March 2027 with options for two further one-year extensions.
This follows the Education Authority’s termination of its contract with Fujitsu Services for a replacement system.
Under the new extension, Capita will continue to deliver the managed IT service and application services to all 1,104 schools across Northern Ireland, including primary, secondary, special educational needs and nursery.
The extension includes the supply of a broad range of computer and related services, information technology consultancy services and the supply of computer hardware, software and associated products.
Capita’s partnership with the authority goes back 13 years.
Richard Holroyd, CEO of Capita Public Service, commented: "We look forward to continuing our long-standing partnership with the Education Authority of Northern Ireland, and remain incredibly proud to be delivering essential services that support learning and education across Northern Ireland."
