North Wales Police has agreed on a trio of managed IT services contracts worth a total of £15 million with CGI.

The contracts will initially run for four years and cover managed workplace services, enterprise communication services and enterprise system services. They will involve the management of a secure ICT infrastructure estate, desktop and mobile environments, business and technical applications, with programmes for cloud migration and application rationalisation.

CGI said they will support North Wales Police’s transformation programme and also involve environmental, social and governance activities through a variety of charitable support and outreach programmes. These are focused on supporting vulnerable and older people,  improving educational opportunities for the young, and helping improve local communities.

The deal builds on a longstanding relationship between the two organisations.

Seb Phillips, director of finance for the police force, said: “The new contracts provide an opportunity to build on our trusted partnership with CGI as we look to develop our effective use of technology and ensure that it acts as a critical enabler, supporting the delivery of the best possible service that we can to our NWP communities.”
