North Wales Fire and Rescue Service is migrating its finance systems to a software-as-a-service solution from enterprise software provider TechnologyOne.
The move will give its employees access to new general ledger, accounts, budgeting, forecasting and asset management systems through an online portal.
The company said this will help to improve the service’s real time financial decision making and business reporting.
Helen Howard, head of finance at North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, said: “The new systems, and the improved financial and management information coming from them, will be a huge benefit for the fire and rescue service. Right now, it can be quite laborious, pulling data across from different systems and spreadsheets.
“Having better information systems will support budget holder decision making. It will help us ensure better financial planning as well.”
She added that the solution will support remote working.
The platform is powered by Amazon Web Services, and North Wales follows the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service in signing up to use it.
