Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) has selected the Cadcorp SIS geographic information system (GIS) for resource planning and risk analysis.
The company said the software and services package will come into use in March under a three-year contract and includes Cadcorp SIS Desktop, Workload Modeller, Risk Modeller and a series of online training courses.
Various datasets will be integrated into SIS Desktop, which has an integrated hot spot mapping function that will enable NFRS to visualise where there is a risk to property and target its services accordingly.
Workload Modeller provides for resource planning and performance monitoring and Risk Modeller for risk analysis. The latter will be used in the NFRS’s new Community Risk Management Plan.
Austin Goreham, head of planning and performance at NFRS said: “The Cadcorp GIS and fire service modelling applications allow us to incorporate the latest blue light analysis to allocate resources to risk and offer the flexibility we need for effective service delivery and informed stakeholder engagement.”
