Norfolk County Council has agreed a three-year deal with Civica to use its cloud based Cx Regulatory Services platform for its trading standards operation.
It is also planning to deploy the Cx Citizen Portal for online contact and providing advice. It intends to connect this to the platform with the aim of improving data collection.
The new system will make it possible to automatically transfer information from the portal into the back office to create records, and feed into intelligent workflow processes for trading standards.
The software also provides an automatic link with the Citizens Advice consumer helpline. This will direct the public to the helpline while providing the council with the intelligence behind enquiries to help in targeting its resources.
Sophie Leney, Norfolk’s head of trading standards, said: “A partnership approach was vital when bringing in a new system and it’s important that we can adapt the system to truly best suit how we operate.
“The automated integration with Citizens Advice will help us to focus our enforcement action on those areas which are most concerning to Norfolk people.”
