The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) has signed technology company CDW as a partner for rolling out its digital strategy.
They have agreed on a two-year contract, with an option to extend for three more, that came into force in mid-January and is valued at £35 million, under which CDW will take over responsibility for core digital services in the strategy.
It previously been awarded a contract as information systems function provider, with another going to Deloitte for cyber security services.
The three agreements replace one with PA Consulting that expired at the end of July last year.
According to the contract award notice, NIHR has wanted a flexible commercial model to align with the agile approach taking by its digital, data and technology team, and to respond to possible changes in the project pipeline and prioritisation over the life of the contract.
The core service requirements include the design and delivery of digital solutions and supporting programme management. NIHR’s strategy includes the development of platforms for the debate and shaping of research and to engage, develop and retain research professionals.
