NHS Forth Valley has completed an upgrade of its electronic document and records management system as the primary database for all patient information.
Supplier CCube Solutions said the Scottish health board has moved to version four its EDRMS with all the data migrated to fit the new web based platform architecture, with the training of users and IT infrastructure upgraded.
This is part of a strategy that has involved integrating numerous specialist IT systems and using a clinical portal to provide clinicians and other health professionals with easy access. The EDRMS provides the patient records store, including scanned and ‘born’ electronic information to underpin clinical services.
CCube said the system provides role based access, different views of the record such as those based on case notes and timelines, expanded scanning capacity and extensive systems integration and operational capabilities. The latter enables it to store messages from local GP surgeries, and import information from sources such as the health board’s TrakCare patient administration systems and communications from the Scottish Digital Dermatology Appointments Service.
Anne Fielding, NHS Forth Valley’s EDMS project team leader, said: “Covid obviously delayed our progress, but we’re now fully operational with version four. We love the system – it’s so easy to use, offers various tools for managing documents and the reliability and speed of presenting larger documents via a browser is better.”
