NHS England is planning to add new integration, trend analysis and research functions to the FutureNHS collaboration platform.
It has published a market notice for support in discovery and alpha projects, aiming to prototype potential solutions.
This comes a year and a half after it first indicated that it aimed to extend the capabilities of FutureNHS into an information sharing platform for health and social care.
NHS England said it is looking at how to solve three problems: how to integrate it with other products for the use of community features; how to better analyse the content added to the platform; and how to make it easier for users to discover the content.
“We are looking for a team to help us further understand the problems our users are looking to overcome and any constraints, risks and opportunities we may face,” it said. “Following this we are looking to prototype and test potential solutions to decide whether to take them forward.”
FutureNHS is run by a team within NHS England’s office of chief data and analytics.
