NHS Wales Informatics deal for IBM

Velindre NHS Trust has arranged support for its Enterprise Master Patient Index (E-MPI) software in a £477,000 deal with IBM.

The procurement was arranged without a call for competition following the failure to extend the existing agreement, and because of the urgency to protect the clinical applications dependent on the E-MPI. The software is embedded into the informatics infrastructure of Wales – with Velindre acting as host for the NHS Wales Informatics Service – and supports core services including the new Welsh Community Clinical Information System.

Scottish Government extends EDRM support

The Scottish Government has signed a £2.5 million deal with Objective Corporation for the support and maintenance of its legacy electronic document and record management system. The contract notice says the deal was arranged without prior publication as the company, as incumbent service provider, is the only operator able to support the system. The EDRM provides the Scottish Government’s business critical electronic filing system and document of record.
