Anglia Revenues Partnerships takes Capita automation
Anglia Revenues Partnership (ARP), which collects council tax and delivers housing benefit for seven local authorities across East Anglia, has been announced as the latest customer to sign up to Capita Software Services’ new automation software.
This follows the company’s launch of the automation function in its Advantage Revenues and Benefits software, which it says can make claim processing times 20 times quicker than processing the same form manually.
ARP will be using automation software for housing benefit and council tax support (new claims and change in circumstances), as well as for council tax discounts and exemptions.
New chief enterprise architect for Ordnance Survey
Ordnance Survey has appointed Lisa Woodall as its first permanent chief enterprise architect. She joins OS after more than 20 years with Zurich Insurance Company, where she was head of strategy, architecture and governance.
Woodall will be working with the executive team to advise on business alignment, enterprise architecture, information technology solutions, and the associated impact on the organisation and its stakeholders. She will also lead the development and implementation of enterprise architecture strategy, vision and guiding principles across the entire organisation.
Her interests have been in the InsurTech industry, the impact of internet of things, connected autonomous vehicles and the big data agenda.
Mid and West Wales FRS does deal with Infographics
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service has signed a contract with Infographics to use its FireWatch application and Microsoft Azure cloud hosting services. The first phase of implementation will involve using the system’s modules for HR, planning and management, self-service, health and safety, time management, payment calculation and interfacing with payroll.
Project manager Steve McLinden said: “Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service are targeting process and system efficiencies as part of their Transformation 2020 programme and FireWatch stood out as a key enabler to deliver greater integrated working and quality performance data across the organisation. The system will support planned new ways of working and increase electronic processes and workflow through its integrated specialist modules.”
HMCTS announces hackathon winner
HM Courts & Tribunal Service has announced that a project from Wavelength and the Law Society won its hackathon competition this month. It progressed from the diagnosis of a chest complaint in a doctor’s surgery through each stage of a possible claim against a landlord, using ‘pathfinder’ technology and voice interaction with COLIN (the Courts OnLINe help agent).
The runners-up, TeamPM from Pinsent Masons, presented MobiMapper, a case visualisation and argument mapper that narrows the issues of a case into a single document that a litigant might bring to court.
The 24-hour hackathon was devised to develop new digital solutions for online courts.
