DWP moves Tell Us Once to cloud
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has completed the transition of its Tell Us Once facility to a cloud hosted service and begun to manage the infrastructure, taking over from a third party supplier.
Alasdair Dyde, delivery management at DWP Digital, says in a blogpost the move was carried out by last August and has involved creating a new team to support the application using technologies such as AppFabric and Biztalk middleware for Windows Server.
Tell Us Once was launched five years ago to enable people to inform the DWP and local authorities just once of births and deaths. The department says it has so far been used by nearly 2 million families.
Axelos plans updates for PRINCE2
The PRINCE2 methodology for project management is to be updated for the first time since 2009.
Axelos, the joint venture between the Cabinet Office and Capita that manages the standard, said the new version should be available in mid-2017, and will place a strong emphasis on scalability and how to tailor the method to the specific requirements of projects.
Among the changes will be a restructuring of themes guidance, the practical application of guidance, and clarification of the link between themes and principles.

Ian Whitwell, assistant director of ICT at Muir Group, said: “Cx will enable us to streamline internal processes and move more services online, giving us more time to focus on our tenants, including more home visits supported by the system’s mobile capabilities.”
